Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and one of the ten poorest countries in the world. Amid skyrocketing inflation and stagnant wages, many of Haiti’s citizens struggle to house their families and put food on the table. School fees, which continue to rise due to inflation, have become beyond the reach of many families.
The Conejo Compassion Coalition has intervened to help families whose need is particularly great and who, without our help, would not be able to send their children to school. This program has been in place for over 3 years now and some of the sponsored students have graduated and are experiencing the upward mobility that comes with a basic education.
